History
Warrington Library was the first rate supported public library in the country, opening on 24 May 1848.
Following its success, it moved to larger premises in Museum Street in November 1857. In 2009 the library reopened following a six month refurbishment programme, which provided an improved children's library, increased computer provision and extended opening hours.
