Using the internet

All of our libraries offer user’s free access to the world wide web.

You should know that some sites may have been blocked by our filtering firewall and software as they may be inappropriate for viewing in a public space.

Take care when using the internet as the library is not responsible for the accuracy, validity or legality of any information made available via the internet or for slow response times on particular websites or their availability.

See our acceptable use policy below for more details about responsibly using the internet and also the parental consent form for children and young people aged under 16.

New to computers?

Step by step manuals are available at each site to guide beginners through using some of the software on the computer.

For details about basic and informal computer courses run in local libraries please visit the learning in libraries section of this website – link below.
