London 2012 is a once in a lifetime opportunity for people across the country and in Warrington to use the power of the games to inspire change and create a legacy to improve the health and wellbeing of all people.
The council's ASET team is working on a local level to help bring the games to Warrington and inspire change through the four rings of the Cheshire and Warrington 'Embrace the Games' document:
- Sport and physical activity
- Cultural Olympiad
- Visitor economy
- Business opportunities.
ASET provides the lead on two of these areas: sport and physical activity and the cultural Olympiad, and we are leading on plans and events to make sure the Olympic brand has a real ‘legacy’ within the borough.
Details of the plans and how you can get involved will be available as we approach the event, but in the meantime follow the links below for more information.
