The wire magazine reborn in 2012

Wire e-mag headerFor several years Warrington Borough Council’s communications team produced Wire magazine to update local people with public service and community news.

Publication of the Wire stopped last year as part of a package of budget saving measures - it cost around £64,000 to design, print and distribute it three times a year.

In 2012 the Wire is back online and residents are being urged to sign up to stay in the know.  It will contain up-to-date information about the latest news and events in and around Warrington.

Cllr Hitesh Patel, executive board member for personnel and communications said: “We want to keep our residents up-to-date with the work we are doing. Moving to a digital version of the Wire online means that we save tens of thousands of pounds in print and delivery costs and it’s much better for the environment too.”

The first edition of the e-zine will launch next month and can be viewed on the council’s website or emailed directly to readers, see www.warrington.gov.uk/wire for more information.
