Warrington Borough Council is looking to recruit an army of volunteer stewards to assist with the Olympic Torch Relay as it passes through the borough on Thursday 31 May.
The London 2012 organisers are anticipating a high turn out across the country as people say they want to see the torch being carried through their streets by local people.
Stewards will be crucial to the success of the event in the borough, as they make the day a safe and enjoyable one for both spectators.
Volunteers will have a chance to be a part of a great team, meet like-minded people and have a fun filled day while helping Warrington mark this once in a lifetime event.
To register your interest or find out more please contact Tom on 444110 or email thowarth@warrington.gov.uk training will be given.
Please note there maybe other volunteering opportunities in relation to the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in the town. Plans to mark this occasion are still in development; look out for further details on the council’s website and in the local press later this year!
