The Youth Café will be exhibiting its exciting new public art project ‘The Bright Unknown’ on the evening of 16 February 2012.
The ‘Bright Unknown’ project, which has been underway since January, aims to raise young people’s historic awareness of Warrington and engage their creativity. The project has involved the creation of a new art trail around the town which participants have also created a map for.
The completed art work will be launched on Thursday 16 February with two chances to have a special guided tour delivered by the young people at either 6 or 7pm. Street projections will continue on the evenings of 17 and 18 February and maps will be continue to be available after the launch event.
Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy this unique art exhibition - tickets are free and available at http://thebrightunknown.eventbrite.co.uk/
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council, said:
‘The young people involved in this project have worked really hard to create something that inspires the imagination and presents a unique view of Warrington, and I’m sure everyone that goes to see it will thoroughly enjoy it. I would like to congratulate all the participants on their great work which will go towards the completion of an AQA award."
The initiative has been made possible thanks to £1,000 funding from Fujitsu. The project is being led by the Youth Café in collaboration with artists Jeni McConnell and Hannah Elizabeth Allan, who work together as Collaborative Space.
