Crematorium
Services take place in the chapel at Walton Lea every 40 minutes. The chapel may be hired for a further 40 minutes if required.
The crematorium has a large and wide-ranging catalogue of music available to be played at funeral services - see link below. Funeral directors have copies of this catalogue for public viewing. Alternatively it is possible for families to bring their own music in advance of the funeral. The chapel also houses an organ, which is available free of charge for use during funeral services. During a funeral service it is optional to have the curtains drawn across the catafalque or left open. This instruction must be given to both crematorium staff and clergy members prior to the funeral taking place.

Following cremation, the applicant may collect remains if required. Remains will not be given to any other person without the consent in writing of the applicant. The applicant must bring identification in order to collect remains.
We provide areas in our gardens where remains may be strewn free of charge, alternatively remains may be interred within a plot in the Garden of Remembrance for a charge. Should families wish, it is possible to make an appointment to witness the strewing or interment of remains. Further details can be found in the laying to rest section.
A range of memorials are available, further details are in the cremated remains section. Floral tributes may be placed in the vases surrounding the Book of Remembrance room.
Service of Remembrance
Each year the crematorium hosts a Service of Remembrance, representing several Christian churches. The next service is Sunday 24 June 2012 at 3pm. Weather-permitting it is held outside, otherwise it's in the chapel.
Cemeteries
The cemeteries have provision for various denominations. The Exclusive Right of Burial may be purchased for individual plots in Fox Covert, Burtonwood and Rixton cemeteries. Smaller plots for the interment of cremated remains may be purchased in all four cemeteries. Special gardens for the burial of babies have been provided in Fox Covert and Warrington cemeteries.
Consultation
We aim to improve our service and hold regular liaison meetings with our funeral directors, clergy, memorial masons and others involved in our service. In addition we have a public discussion group who meet to discuss how we provide the service and how it could be improved. Anyone who wishes to become more involved in the management and development of the service can do so in one of the following ways:
Management surgeries are held throughout the year:
