Recycling talks and education

The recycling team are happy to attend any local events to promote recycling and waste minimisation through an informative information display.

We have a dedicated waste education & promotion officer who would be more than happy to undertake talks, assemblies and presentations on recycling and waste to any community groups or schools.

A new Waste Education Centre based at Gatewarth Community Recycling Centre has now been opened, the new centre is unique to the area and boasts interactive displays showing how waste of all kinds is recycled and reused.

The centre has been developed with support from two contractors - Environmental Waste Controls (EWC) who have provided a converted reused shipping container to house the centre and DHL Enviro Solutions have provided funding and support in fitting out the centre.

Visitors to the centre will find out about the UK's rubbish problem, learn about the wide variety of materials that can be recycled and how to make a real difference by reducing waste and recycling more at home. The centre provides an ideal trip for local school and community groups.
