Why volunteer?
Millions of people in this country already volunteer. They do it because they enjoy it, get a sense of satisfaction, want to play an active role in the community and learn new skills.
Many volunteers find the skills developed lead to greater opportunities like paid employment.
The range of volunteering opportunities is huge. There are a whole host of projects in the five neighbourhoods represented by Stronger Together in Warrington, which could benefit from your efforts and any time you can spare.
Tips on volunteering
- think about what you want to get out it i.e. new skills, meeting people, improving your neighbourhood
- think about what you have to offer such as skills from work and life skills
- work out how much time you can offer per week or month
- get in touch with Stronger Together in Warrington and we will let you know what opportunities are available.

Community eco-reps
The role of a community eco-rep is to champion a green action plan for their local area and act as someone who can pass on information to others in their group and community. They will receive a quarterly e-newsletter that will highlight what other project people are doing in their community and it will make the network aware of when grants or offers become available and pass on information like changes to bin collection services.
A network meeting is held twice a year for reps to find out what each other is up to.
The eco-rep volunteer role description can be found below.
