Nationally, there are increasing numbers of children in the care of local authorities who cannot return to their biological parents. These children now need permanent, loving families who can provide stability and the opportunity for them to thrive and reach their full potential.

To help overcome the challenge of recruiting adopters locally, Warrington, Wigan and St Helens Councils have joined forces and formed WWiSH, an innovative, shared adoption service. The service aims to make the adoption process more efficient and more effective through widening the pool of prospective carers. WWiSH also offers an enhanced adoption support service.
