Council policy
The full details of the current position on home to school transport are set out in the council policy. By law (The Education and Inspection Act 2006) Warrington Borough Council must make transport arrangements for people who receive education if the home to appropriate school distance exceeds the statutory walking distance.
‘Arrangements’ are generally met through working with parents, schools, local transport providers, highways management, cycle and walk to school schemes and community transport organisations.

Arrangements for subsidised transport are made where a young person over compulsory school age who is a full time student at a School Sixth Form, Sixth Form College or Further Education College or engaged in Foundation Learning at either a Further Education College or private Training Provider within the borough of Warrington.
