The service is made up of a team of four area managers, each responsible for a neighbourhood co-ordination area of the borough.  Street services provide a front-line service working all over town on our streets, verges, parks, in churchyards and schools. The team has responsibility for the delivery and management of a wide range of services on public (council owned) land including:

• a multi-skilled streets service operation including street cleansing and general ground care
• horticultural maintenance and development in parks, public open spaces and highway verges as well as Golden Gates Housing Trust properties and in excess of eighty schools
• maintenance of cemetery and closed churchyard grounds
• shrub and rose beds
• sports pitches
• clean and green environmental issues where environmental design is used to change and improve community living
• rapid response fly-tipping removal team
• litter removal and the provision and emptying of litter bins
• mechanical sweeping
• offensive or racist graffiti removal
