Homecoming planned if Wolves triumph

Published Tuesday, 31st July 2012

A homecoming parade for Warrington Wolves will take place in the town on Sunday 26 August if the team win.

Wolves Homecoming 2010

The parade will start at around 4pm when the team will return to home soil after their cup final game in London the day before.

The extended procession route used in 2010 is currently being reviewed by the council’s highways team; but as with previous years the town hall will be the end point.

There the gathered crowds will see the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Steve Wright officially welcome the team home. The players, coaching staff and club directors will then have an official photograph taken before joining the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington and other distinguished guests for a civic reception in the town hall.

Look out for more details in the local press soon!

Volunteers we need you!

Warrington Borough Council and Culture Warrington are looking to recruit a team of volunteer stewards to assist with the homecoming event over the bank holiday weekend.

Stewards are crucial to the success of the event as they make the day a safe and enjoyable one for spectators.  Volunteers will have a chance to meet like-minded people and have a fun filled day while helping Warrington mark the homes team’s success. Training will be given.
