Capturing the best of Warrington!

Warrington's Rugby League World Cup organising consortium has launched a photography competition to help local promote the town as a tourist destination ahead of the tournament later this year.

Guardian in Warrington town centreThe group will be looking to produce a range of new tourism leaflets and other marketing materials over the coming months and are keen to get the input of local people in this task by asking them to send in a photo of their favourite places and spaces in the borough. 

Jan Souness, chair of the local RLWC2013 group said: “We are looking for photos from the public that best capture the spirit of Warrington , perhaps images of local events and the activities they like to participate in, the attractions or areas they like to visit and the things that make this borough special.”

How to enter

This competition is open to everyone however we cannot accept photographs which have already won prizes in other external competitions. Individuals can submit up to three entries each, in a JPEG format and should not exceed 5MB.

Don’t forget to include your full name and contact details in the email along with a line or two about the photo and why you think it represents the best of Warrington to the 20 000 visitors expected to come to the town during the RLWC2013. 

Please email your entries to thewire@warrington.gov.uk by 5pm on Friday 17 May 2013.

Entries will be posted on to Warrington RLWC story Pinterest page and the best photo will win a £20 Golden Square voucher.
