There will be lane closures, daytime, on Sunday 7 March and then Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 March to recut the traffic detection loops in the road surface in advance of the pedestrian crossings, we apologise for any continued disruption this may cause in the completion of this important road scheme.
Due to unforeseen circumstances relating to Covid-19 Restrictions & Lockdown 3 this scheme will now take 6 weeks to complete, we apologise for any continued disruption this may cause.
Residents, Businesses and Motorists are advised that major road works to resurface WARRINGTON ROAD, PENKETH (WESTBOUND), from Whittle Brook to Hall Nook are programmed to commence on 25 January 2021 and will take up to 5 weeks to complete.
The road, and its side roads, will be closed between 7:00pm and 1:00am to undertake the works safely.
All roads will be fully open to traffic outside these times.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the works.
Vehicular access will be under the control of the Contractor on site.
Vehicles parked on the road or footway obstructing the works may be removed.
The signed diversion route will be A57 Sankey Way, A57 Liverpool Road, Stocks Lane and Farnworth Road.
Information on bus services will be posted at stops prior to the commencement of the works.
The works will be carried out in two phases to minimise inconvenience to residents and businesses,
- Whittle Brook to the petrol station, and,
- Petrol station to Hall Nook.
Any residents or businesses needing access to the closed sections of the works should speak to the contractors on site as soon as they can. Access will only be allowed if it is safe to do so.
