Get hands on with your career

Let us help get you on the right path

We do careers advice and guidance for young people in Warrington. We can help you with information on learning, work opportunities, and training.

It’s our job to help young people to stay in education until they are 18.  This can be at college, an apprenticeship, or a job with training.

We have qualified staff who can help you to:

  • Find the right course or training opportunity
  • Find an apprenticeship or job with training
  • Write a CV
  • Complete application forms
  • Prepare for interviews
  • Give you tips on how to find a job
  • Help you decide what kind of career you want

Why do we contact you?

Our advisers keep track of all young people in Warrington that aren’t in education, training, or a job.  It’s our job as a team to help these young people return to one of these.  These are known as ‘destinations’ and is part of checking RPA [link – what is RPA].

The reason we contact you is because it is a legal requirement for us to gather information on young people’s ‘destinations’ in Warrington.  We have to find out if you are in work or are seeking work, or if they are in education or training.

We will check your destination by:

  • Getting in touch with schools, colleges or other services
  • Contacting you or your parent to check-in on how you’re doing

If we haven’t been able to get in touch with you we may send a letter to you or make a home visit.

Why do we gather information?

We are required to have the following information:

  • Contact details (address, phone number, email)
  • Whether you’re studying, employed, or looking to do one of these

This information is passed on to the Department of Education who use this information to monitor the way legislation is changing the number of people in education or training.
