Warrington Community Equipment Service
These web pages are intended for registered prescribing staff ordering equipment for service users and carers for whom the following organisations have commissioning responsibility:
- Warrington Borough Council adult social care services
- Warrington Borough Council children and young people's services
- Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust
- Warrington & Halton Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust
- 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
They contain all the information you need to know about accessing community equipment via the Community Equipment Store. Please note this catalogue is not for retail use, although it may be useful to any member of the public who wishes to buy their own equipment. More information including Disabled Living Foundation factsheets, local retailers, etc, can be found on the My Life Warrington website.
To ensure accountability and responsibility all prescribers and authorisers of equipment should refer to, understand and comply with the Accessing the Community Equipment Service (CES) protocol [pdf], which provides all the basic information required to access and prescribe equipment provided by the CES. Compliance with the protocol will ensure that all prescribers apply consistent eligibility criteria, follow agreed processes and procedures and are competent to prescribe both complex and non-complex equipment consistent with their level of training/expertise.
As a result service users and their carers will be provided with appropriate equipment to meet their presenting needs, in a timely manner and in accordance with standard policies and good practice guidance.
