The government has introduced new measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant in the UK and has now moved to Plan B in the COVID-19 Autumn/Winter Plan.

Everyone should continue to follow the national guidance. More information about Plan B can be viewed on the government's website.

Coronavirus statistics - the people's data dashboard

We publish a data dashboard with the latest verified statistics.

This includes case numbers, incidence rates per 100,000, hospital information and, sadly, the number of COVID-19 deaths.

Help and support during COVID-19

There is a range of support available for anyone whose life has been impacted by COVID-19. The pandemic has taken its toll on people in many different ways, with some people’s lives affected more severely than others.

Healthcare, mental health support, financial support and support if you’ve previously been shielding is available.

We are working in partnership with Warrington Voluntary Action and other local organisations to deliver services to support you. If you can you offer some time to help, you can also find out how you can volunteer and support your local community.

Household Support Fund (Winter 2021-22)

The government has announced the introduction of the Household Support Fund, intended to support families most in need during this winter. Eligibility details for this fund are still to be confirmed, however, when these details are available we will update our website and let you know how to apply.

Don't forget the basics

Although restrictions have lifted in line with the move to Step 4, we're still encouraging people to follow the basics to limit the spread of the virus.

  • Hands - maintain excellent hand hygiene by washing or sanitising your hands regularly
  • Face - you must wear a face covering in shops and on public transport (unless exempt), but also consider wearing one in other enclosed settings or crowded places, where you can't guarantee good ventilation
  • Space - keep your distance from others by trying to stay two metres away from people outside your household or support bubble
  • Fresh air - meet outside where possible and let fresh air in when indoors to reduce the spread of the virus
