- Brief description of service
Creative Remedies is a programme of arts activities that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of Warrington residents over the age of 18. Our particular community arts scheme was first set up to offer non medication based and alternative intervention with people experiencing, or recovering from mild to moderate mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, but has been opened up to anyone over the age of 18 who feels that interaction with these groups would benefit their health and wellbeing in general. We offer a range of activities, from Art to digital photography, a music group and also singing and drama classes. We aim to engage anyone that feels they could benefit from these groups, as for some people who are socially isolated within our community, these groups have helped them to make friends and gain confidence, all whilst learning new skills in a relaxed and friendly environment. The groups are run by council staff with external tutors and the council staff have a wealth of knowledge on community and cultural activities and can signpost on and offer support and guidance for individuals where needed depending on individual needs.
