The Families First Service is a new team within Warrington Borough Council. The purpose of the team is to work with children who are subject to child in need, child protection plans, public law outline and ‘edge of care’.
The Families First service will work with children and their families who may be at risk of coming into local authority care. This may also include children and young people who have recently left care and returned to live with their parents.
Within Families First, the Intensive Intervention Service will work with families providing intensive intervention co-ordinating and providing evidenced based interventions, offering practical advice and support to help them to make important changes so that they can stay to together as a family.
The role will review and evaluate child in need plans and the impact of the provision of services for children, providing co-ordination of planning and facilitating the pace of change. In this role you will need a clear understanding and the ability to identify situations which involve unassessed risk and/or child protection concerns which require escalation for increased intervention. The role will involve supporting operational teams in implementing related plans for the child. The role will involve developing systems, processes and procedures, in relation in the children in need.
The post will require the coordinators to keep accurate records of the planning and meeting process, including review arrangements and management alerts on the case management system. You will provide a consultation service to managers and practitioners in relation to decisions around the threshold for services. The role will also involve providing direction and motivation of staff to ensure that the service aims are achieved.
DBS clearance will be required.
