37 hours per week, part-time hours will be considered.
Working as a member of the Assisted Living Team, you will be able to demonstrate skills and expertise in delivering person-centred assessments and interventions for visually impaired adults.
The post holder will plan and implement programmes of rehabilitation for blind or partially sighted service users to enhance their skills and confidence, thereby maximising their independence and achieving their desired outcomes. Interventions will include but not be restricted to, equipment provision, training in daily living skills, orientation/mobility training and communication.
Experience of working with people who have dual sensory loss, complex physical needs or cognitive impairments is highly desirable for this post.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and must be flexible, reliable and committed to personal and service development, as we move towards more generic assessment and advice on or provision of innovative assistive technology solutions.
Applicants must hold a recognised qualification; DipHe Rehabilitation (Visual Impairment Foundation Degree or BSc (Hons) in Rehabilitation Work (VI), or equivalent.
