Principal Projects Manager
Warrington Borough Council has ambitious plans for growth contained in the Borough’s economic growth framework ‘Warrington Means Business’ and also the recently announced Local Plan consultation process. Critical to these strategic growth plans is the delivery of a range of infrastructure projects.
The Authority has a significant portfolio of infrastructure projects the majority of which are currently live, but also have many more planned for delivery over the next five to ten years. These include new highway links, major junction improvements, a new railway station, major investment in parks, waste infrastructure and a varied programme of local highway and environmental improvements. The value of this programme is in excess of £200 million. It is therefore essential that we are able to recruit experienced staff to lead on and support the delivery of the programme, to the highest standards of performance, accountability and quality. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of the team transforming “Warrington New Town” to “Warrington New City”.
Following the recent formation of the new Infrastructure Delivery Service within the Transport & Environment division we are now looking to recruit in to the team experienced professionals to support the effective delivery of the Council’s infrastructure delivery programme. Suitable candidates for the role on offer will have a recognised qualification and experience primarily in the highways, civils and building construction sectors. They should however also be able to their skill set to a wider portfolio of projects from across the construction industry, should the need arise.
