The vast majority of dog owners act responsibly, keeping their dogs under control and clearing up their dog’s waste. However, the council continues to receive complaints about dog-related negative behaviour and irresponsible dog owners.

In response to this, the council launched a consultation on Monday 20 January to ask residents their opinions about a variety of dog control related issues. The feedback from the consultation will help to shape and inform the dog control public space protection order (PSPO).

A PSPO is something that can be used to regulate activities that have a detrimental impact on the local community. They are particularly helpful for local councils and police who may need additional powers to tackle anti-social behaviour.

If you'd like to have your say, please complete the consultation survey by 29 February.
