Online forms: Request a public health training session for your organisation

Please note: Only use this form if you want to request a session for 12-20 people. You can book up to three staff or volunteers from your team or organisation on to each of the training dates advertised on this website. To find the advertised dates view the full list of available courses.

When you complete the form for a group training session you will need to tell us:

  • Your contact details, including your email address and phone number
  • How many staff or volunteers you would like trained
  • Which training session you are interested in
  • Whether you have a suitable venue in which to hold the training in (i.e. a room with a laptop, projector, screen and wifi; and enough room for people to move around and get into small discussion groups)
  • Three possible dates for the training that are at least six weeks in the future. (We can then ask whether any trainers are available.)

We will aim to accommodate your team’s or organisation’s training needs, however we may not always be able to provide a session just for your team or organisation, due to the high demand for some sessions and the availability of trainers.

Although most of the training sessions are free, there may be a charge for some, we'll discuss this with you when we receive your request form.

If you're from a private or profit making company they’ll be a charge for all Public Health training sessions you attend. The charges are:

• £50.00 per person for any course that lasts up to half a day

• £100.00 per person for any full day course

Cancellation and non-attendance

If your organisation has requested and agreed a training date for a group of staff or volunteers and later decides it no longer wants the training on the agreed date, then please let us know as soon as possible.

The training may be cancelled by the Public Health Team if:

  • You do not contact the Public Health Team at least two weeks before the session to confirm that the agreed minimum number of people will attend the training.
  • On the day of the training the agreed minimum number of people do not turn up.

If your organisation has arranged for the Public Health Team to deliver free training for a group of staff or volunteers, then your organisation will automatically be invoiced (in accordance with the rates outlined below) for non-attendees, if:

  • Your organisation cancels the session less than two weeks before the date of the training.
  • On the day of the training the agreed minimum number of people do not turn up.

Cancellation and non-attendance fees

£50 per person, up to a maximum of £150 for any course that lasts up to half a day

£100 per person, up to a maximum of £300 for full day courses

In certain circumstances the charge may be waived at the discretion of the Public Health Team. If you believe there are mitigating circumstances and a charge should not be made, it is your responsibility to inform the Public Health Team of this by emailing

We will only ever use this information to deliver the service that you have requested. 

The data we collect from our online forms is stored for no more than six weeks.  However teams within the council may store your data for longer in order to continue to provide you with the service you have requested.  For more information see our website privacy policy.
