A new chapter is unfolding in Social Care in Warrington

It's an exciting time for Warrington Children’s Services as we move towards a practice model  which emphasises the importance of relationships and systemic practice.

We're looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic social care professionals, who want to work alongside families, helping them to solve problems and create change for themselves. We're interested in workers who are respectful, who think about the situation from the child and family’s perspective taking a whole family system approach and treat families with compassion and empathy.

Support and Training

As a valued member of Children's Services you will be supported every step of the way with regular reflective supervision, a manageable and proportionate caseload, a visible and approachable management team and agile working opportunities. You will be provided with training and support to develop your social work skills so you can practice confidently and autonomously.

As a Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) with Warrington Borough Council, we will enrol you on the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).

This is a year long programme and in Warrington we believe our ASYE offer is competitive, comprehensive and helps to bridge the gap between student and fully fledged social worker.

Warrington employees a full time ASYE coordinator for children’s NQSWs. The coordinator is social work qualified and experienced.

‘It helps to be able to reflect on how you have managed a case and where you could improve, which, I believe, helps you develop as a social worker a lot quicker than if the ASYE programme wasn’t available.’
