Homelessness

Are you homeless or about to become homeless?

If you are facing difficulties with your housing, are homeless or are about to become homeless you should contact us as soon as possible. Do not wait until you have left your home or have to leave home very soon before you contact us. The sooner you contact us, the more we can do to help you.  The council's housingplus service can offer advice and help in finding alternative accommodation.  Depending on your personal circumstances, the council may have a duty to find this accommodation for you if you satisfy certain requirements and are within 56 days of losing your home.  Housingplus can give you advice on what legal duties the council has to you.

If you are not facing immediate homelessness you can contact us using our online form and we'll call you back normally within 3 working days. 

If you are in financial difficulties over your mortgage or rent payment, the housingplus service may also be able to assist you before you are evicted and help you to remain in your home.  You need to seek help as soon as you start to get into difficulties, if you don’t seek advice early enough, you may be too late to avoid losing your home.
