Recycling centre improvements
Community recycling centre improvements
We've recently undertaken a review of our community recycling centres with particular focus on the physical condition of these sites, their ongoing maintenance liabilities and their ability to conform to current environmental permitting requirements.
As part of this review it's been identified that the Woolston and Gatewarth sites will require further capital investment so that we can renew perimeter fencing, upgrade lighting and install new CCTV and security systems. If we don't undertake these improvements the sites won't meet the standards that the Environment Agency permit requires. Apart from meeting this legal obligation, these improvements will help us reduce the ongoing maintenance levels, maximise our waste processes and enhance the overall user experience.
Construction Works – LATEST NEWS
As an update to the recent communications regarding the Community Recycling Centre redevelopment works;
The redevelopment works at Woolston CRC are now completed and the site is now open. The site will operate under normal working hours of 10am to 4pm.
The construction works at Gatewarth CRC have commenced and are due for completion late April 2019. The works are being completed in phases in order for the site to remain open during normal business hours. Please be aware that on occasions the traffic routes will be different than normal and so when using the facility please ensure that you follow any temporary signs or direction from site and construction staff.
We'd like to thank you for your patience during these very important works but should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the project team.
