Challenge a ticket

Appeals for parking tickets or bus lane fines need to be made in writing. The easiest way to do this is by email you can also write a letter if you prefer.

  • All appeals must be lodged within 28 days - any received after this time may be automatically refused
  • An appeal must be received within 14 days to still be eligible for the 50% reduction if your appeal is unsuccessful

Within your appeal letter or email please tell us:

  • What type of ticket are you appealing? Parking ticket or Bus lane fine?
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Ticket reference number - this starts with WI followed by 8 digits
  • Ticket issue date
  • You reasons for appealing including why you think the ticket or fine should be cancelled 
  • If the vehicle was being driven by someone else or was hired out
  • Any other information you think is relevant 
  • Any supporting documentation such as hire agreements, proof of purchase/sale etc

If you were/are not the owner/driver of the vehicle at the time the ticket was issued please also tell us:

  • If you sold the vehicle before or bought it after the ticket was issued
  • The date that you sold or bought the vehicle
  • The name and address of the buyer, seller or driver
