The Smart Flat
The Smart Flat showcases a range of innovative technology to support you if you have adult social care needs, or you know or care for someone else who does.
It includes technology which can:
- monitor movement
- improve security around the home
- help stimulate appetite
- support with taking medication
- helping to remain composed
- and much more.
Most of the technology used in the Smart Flat wouldn’t be seen out of place in any ordinary home - but the items can offer significant benefits for those who may need some extra support.
The flat has a display bedroom, living room and kitchen featuring products such as voice operated openers/closers for doors and windows, smart speakers e.g. Amazon Echos, movement sensors, robotic companion pets, talking clocks, facial recognition security - plus innovative products to help those with physical and sensory disabilities and dementia.
Come and visit the Smart Flat to find out how this technology can support you or someone you know, and help to increase wellbeing and improve independence:

The flat is open Monday to Friday between 10am-2pm, but visits are by appointment only so please call 01925 240064. There are trained assessors who will be able to identify the equipment suitable for you, talk you through what it can do and how it can help as well as where to purchase it from. The majority of the items and technology on show at the flat is available to purchase direct from the supplier or from high-street retailers at affordable prices.
The Smart Flat was launched in October 2018 by the council and Warrington Disability Partnership, with financial support from the Better Care Fund.
