Safeguarding children at school

Local councils and schools have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people under the Education Act 2002 and the Children Act 1989. Our Education Safeguarding Team support schools to safeguard vulnerable young people, which may include those who are travellers, home-educated children, children in care, children missing education, children excluded from school (or at risk of being excluded), and those who are unable to attend school due to medical reasons.

If you work in a local school, visit My School Services for more information about the Education Safeguarding Team and how they can help.
