Junction improvements at Liverpool Road/Lingley Green Avenue
We're proposing improvements to the junction of Liverpool Road/Lingley Green Avenue. At the moment this junction experiences congestion at peak hours which has impacts on the operation of west Warrington highway network. Without improvements, congestion is expected to worsen as traffic growth in the area continues.
The proposed improvements [pdf] include localised widening of Liverpool Road (eastbound) and Lingley Green Ave (southbound).
We'll be holding public exhibitions to explain the proposals, with our officers around to answer any questions you might have. They'll be held on the following:
- Thursday 1 March - 11.00 to 14.00: The Food Hall, Lingley Mere Business Park WA5 3UU
- Friday 2 March - 16.00 to 20.00: Main Hall, Tim Parry Community Centre, Cromdale Way WA5 3NY
- Saturday 3 March - 10.00 to 13.00: Main Hall, Tim Parry Community Centre, Cromdale Way WA5 3NY
The expected start of construction is still to be confirmed; however we anticipate the improvements to be completed by spring 2020.
You can comment on the proposals using the online feedback form. At the end of the online feedback form we'll ask a number of equality questions. If you'd like to know why we ask these questions then our 'Equality monitoring guide for people filling in forms' [pdf] will explain exactly why we ask these questions.
The consultation period runs from 19 February to 16 March 2018.
In addition to the above proposals, a number of other junction improvements are proposed in the West Warrington area. These improvements are at various stages of development and are detailed in this plan [pdf].
Further public consultation will be undertaken as these schemes develop. If you require additional information, please email the project delivery team.
