Severe weather helpline

During severe weather the council and NHS Warrington want to ensure vulnerable residents are as safe and comfortable as possible.

The council will continue to provide normal services to those who receive home care, for as long as conditions allow. Where conditions disrupt services, contact will be made with those people affected.

However, if you or someone you know is unable to leave the house because of dangerous weather conditions, there is a number you can call for help to have shopping delivered to your house, prescriptions picked up and pensions collected.

The helpline will only operate during severe weather and is aimed at residents with poor mobility who do not have help or support, or anyone who has concerns about someone who may be stranded at home.

It's only available whilst the weather is considered dangerous but can be triggered Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 5pm.

An out of hours service will also operate in the evenings, weekends and on bank holidays, but this will be restricted to emergencies only.
