WWiSH adoption service
New adoption agency on its way
Together for adoption is a new regional agency that integrates five local authorities – Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan.
In 2015 the government announced changes to the service, proposing that all adoption services should be delivered on a regional basis by 2020. New agencies, like Together for adoption, are aiming to:
- Increase the number of children adopted
- Reduce the length of time children wait to be adopted
- Improve post adoption support services to families who have adopted
- Reduce the number of adoption agencies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Together for adoption will be fully launched by 1st September 2017, with brand new office locations, a new website, enquiry telephone number and email system in place.
In the meantime, if anyone would like to enquire about becoming an adopter or who is an adopter needing support, please visit: http://www.wwish.org.uk/
