Parks regeneration

Warrington has an ambitious programme to upgrade and improve all of its parks across the town, many of which have already benefitted from improvements to play areas, footpaths and woodland.

Walton Hall park and gardens has already seen the construction of a new extension, there's also been new toilets and baby changing facilities built near the entrance to the children's zoo. Have a look at our development map!

Over the last few years we've been refurbishing play areas across the borough to ensure inclusive play and activity is available to children in every part of the town. The list of playgrounds that have received complete refurbishments continues to grow having benefited from our capital funding and grants from WREN’s Community Action Fund.

Oakwood Avenue play area is the most recent to have been completely refreshed and as the before and after photos show below, the transformation was huge and well received by the local community. By March 2019 we hope to deliver a further three refurbishments with more upgrades lined up for delivery over the summer. Exciting times!
