Walton Hall and Gardens developments

Walton conservatory range project

In April we received the exciting news that our funding bid to the Heritage Lottery fund had been successful as we were awarded nearly two million pounds to help us with our restoration proposals!

We'd like to thank our partners Walton Lea Partnership, Myerscough College and the Friends of Walton estate, who worked closely with us on submitting the bid to restore the glasshouses, stable buildings and the establishment of a dedicated learning centre.

As you can see by the photo of the glasshouses, they're in a state of disrepair at the moment but not for much longer!

Mysercough College and Walton Lea Partnership will be renting some of the site from us to deliver education and learning. We've also developed an activity programme with an exciting range of volunteering activities and interpretation as we feel that the Walton Estate has some great stories to be told and we want to share that with the people who visit.

The pictures and info graphic below show the broad aims of our project.

What Next?

We now have planning approval and we're in the process of agreeing the design. Subject to everything going to plan the site would be open in Spring 2019.
