Following an assessment process the results and responses from our recent consultation are set out in our Consultation Closure Document [pdf].

Timescales

Following a consultation exercise undertaken in September / October 2018 – works will now commenced on site on the 8 April 2019 associated with the Burtonwood Environmental Improvement scheme, providing a wide variety of measures to manage traffic volume, speeds, movement and improve facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

The works have been programmed to be undertaken in phases to minimise the disruption to motorists.

The following details phase 1 to phase 3 of the works programmed up to 10 May 2019:

Phase one

  • Location - Clay Lane / Haley Road South
  • Description of works - construction of raised junction and associated footway works
  • Hours of operation - 9.30am - 3.30pm
  • Status/progress to date - approx 60% complete
  • Temporary traffic management arrangements - Road closure
  • Alternative route - follow the dark blue line on our master diversion plan [pdf]

Phase two  

Works programmed to commence 23 April 2019. 

  • Location - Clay Lane / Gorsey Lane
  • Description of works - construction of raised junction, zebra crossing and associated footway works
  • Hours of operation - 9.30am - 3.30pm
  • Duration of works - 2.5 weeks
    • Final carriageway surfacing and ramp profile programmed for Wed 31 July 2019
  • Temporary traffic management arrangements - road closure at the junction of Clay Lane /Gorsey Lane
  • Alternative route - Follow the orange line for Clay Lane and dashed orange line for Gorsey Lane on our master diversion plan [pdf]

Phase three

Works programmed to commenced on site 2 May 2019.

  • Location - Clay Lane / Haley Road North
  • Description of Works – construction of raised junction and associated footway works
  • Hours of operation - 9.30am - 3.30pm
  • Duration of Works – 1 week 
    • Final carriageway surfacing and ramp profile programmed for Monday 5 August 2019 
  • Temporary traffic management arrangements – road closure at the junction of Clay Lane / Hayley Road North 
  • Alternative Route – follow the dark blue line on our master diversion plan [pdf]

Street lighting 

Various street lighting works will be undertaken at certain locations along effected section of carriageway as part of the improvement works.  

The diversion route [pdf] illustrates the alternative route for each Phase of the Burtonwood Environmental improvement scheme.

The overall duration of the project is anticipated to be around six months (completion mid October 2019). Further updates will be provided throughout the duration of the works on a fortnightly basis detailing the phasing of the works, the temporary traffic management arrangements, progress of the scheme, road closures and alternative routes etc.
