1:1 Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Grappenhall Heys Community Primary School
The role
Grappenhall Heys Community Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic teaching assistant who is able to support teaching and learning throughout school and is willing to take part in the life of the school. The role will involve working one-to-one, supporting a child in a classroom setting, as well as supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
This is a fixed term contract until July 2026, working 32.50 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm), term time only plus Inset days.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who:
- can work alongside teachers and other support staff to support and develop the literacy and numeracy skills of pupils
- have an ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with the pupils, parents and staff
- have experience of working with children with specific needs
- are able to work as part of a team
- demonstrate strong behaviour management skills in line with school policy
- conform to school policies and procedures – safeguarding, welfare, health and safety and data protection
- undergo any training required in order to perform relevant duties efficiently
- support the teaching of a curriculum that allows pupils to achieve and make progress
- be a patient and understanding champion of vulnerable pupils
The post also includes pastoral care duties including lunchtime pupil support.
