An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Apprentice Vehicle and Plant Mechanic’s within the Councils Fleet Services Department.

This is a 4 year fixed term apprenticeship, where you will learn how to service and repair the Councils varied fleet of vehicles and plant assets ranging from heavy commercial trucks such as refuse collection vehicles, light commercial vehicles, large and small grounds care maintenance machinery and handheld equipment.

You will be required to complete an industry recognised Standards/NVQ apprenticeship whilst working with qualified mechanics through the varying stages of your apprenticeship to gain the necessary hands on experience. In addition you will be required to attend and complete academic studies to gain relevant industry recognised qualifications. Studies and training may require block release and overnight stays.
