We are looking to appoint up to three dedicated and professional Attendance & Pastoral Officers who will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Year and our Student Services teams to support young people and raise achievement by improving attendance and engagement. If successful, you will have a real opportunity to improve the life chances of young people.

The precise job descriptions will be finalised upon appointment, taking into account the specific skills, experiences and interests of the successful candidates. One post will certainly be in the 6th form team, working with post-16 students and families. In the main school, we anticipate one post being focused slightly more on the attendance monitoring and data side of things, with the second involving more time spent directly with students, families and external agencies. All three posts will have attendance as the primary focus, but successful candidates will be more than purely attendance officers; you will also be very much part of our Student Services teams, playing a broader role in providing pastoral care for all students. If you have a strong preference for any of these areas of responsibility, please say so in your application, but please don’t feel it is essential to have such a preference. Successful candidates will have experience of working in a school or college environment and are highly likely to have some direct experience of working on attendance. It will also be an advantage to be familiar with the use of SIMS to record and analyse attendance patterns.
