Casual Residential Care Worker
The role
Warrington Borough Council have an exciting opportunity to work in our respite home for children with disabilities and complex health needs. The home has recently been inspected by Ofsted and has gained a judgement of “outstanding” for 10 years running. At Westland Drive we can care for up to 3 children at any one time, up to the age of 18 years.
We are looking to recruit a Casual Residential Care worker. Encouraging the children to reach their full potential is paramount. Personal care for the children will also be part of the role. Candidates will be required to be flexible, enthusiastic and must be willing to undertake a range of activities with the young people. We are looking for a committed, caring and passionate individual who will always place the children we care for at the centre of all they do.
The post is a casual contract and the hours covered will be worked to cover a twenty-four hour, seven day a week service. This will include evenings, weekends and school holidays to meet the needs of the service. You will receive a sleep-in supplement to your pay and enhancements to your hourly rate to cover weekends and past 19:00.
Sleeping In duties may be offered as part of the role as well as working bank holidays and unsociable hours.
Experience of working with young people with disabilities and complex health needs is desirable but not essential and experience of a residential setting would be an advantage. You will receive mandatory and specialist training and supervision from your line manager. We are committed to your personal development and we will ensure that you are fully supported in this role. The successful candidate will be joining a stable and committed staff team lead by a dedicated management team.
