It’s an exciting time to be joining Children Social Care in Warrington. Over the last 12 months we’ve embarked on an ambitious programme redesigning our frontline services for children and families, and as part of this process we are now focusing on our wider approach to contextual safeguarding.

The Contextual Safeguarding Practice Lead post is a new role within the service. Co-located with our MASH the post holder will play a key role in the co-ordination of our safeguarding responses to children at risk of contextual safeguarding.

The role is hugely varied and will include chairing multi-agency panels and meetings, providing consultation, training and advice to social workers, and working across Cheshire with other Contextual Safeguarding Leads. With our approach to contextual safeguarding evolving at this time, the post holder will also have a key role in thinking about how we develop our wider approach to contextual safeguarding across Warrington as a whole.

We are looking for a committed practitioner who has substantial experience of working in children protection and also has experience and expertise in contextual safeguarding.

So if you want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people with relationship based practice at the heart of everything we do, then come and join us in Warrington where we are passionate about our work with children and families.  We have high aspirations for our children and welcome those who share our ambition.
