The Role

We are looking for a skilled Democratic Services Officer to support a thriving Democratic Services Section.

Join us and you will be responsible for:

 

1.    Maintaining excellent standards of governance through the efficient management of Committees, Boards and Panels of the Council

 

2.    Preparation of agenda, reports, minutes and attendance of meetings as required including giving advice and guidance on the conduct of meetings as necessary.

 

3.    Assisting in the monitoring of the subsequent implementation of Council decisions in liaison with the relevant Directorates

 

4.    Working across the whole team including member support and civic

 

5.    Supporting the Election process

Reporting directly to the Senior Democratic Services Officer, you will join a team of officers that are committed to continually improving their skill set, that are enthused to support the wider organisation and who can work in an agile way.    

The job will involve close liaison with Councillors, colleagues and the community, so it essential that you bring relevant experience and are politically aware. You will have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met.
