Warrington EPS is a very friendly, energetic, and forward thinking team which is highly regarded by schools and other service users in Warrington. Our team consists of experienced psychologists and newcomers to the profession. The EPS makes a valuable contribution to the high quality provision for vulnerable children and young people in Warrington through service delivery to schools and the community, with good links to Speech and Language, the Child Development Centre, the Virtual School for Children in Care, and Early Years. We are developing our involvement with young people in post 16 provision. We are also involved in the Critical Incident Response team.
Our service delivery is carried out via consultations, traditional assessment tools and techniques and creative ways to gain the voice of the child, which is at the heart of all we do. Core LA work is mixed with a traded model enabling us to carry out interventions, systemic work, and work therapeutically.
We value CPD and are committed to using the latest research and techniques. You will be encouraged to follow your interest in specialist aspects of educational psychology to add to the experience and knowledge within the team. We are a highly supportive service where collaboration and peer supervision are actively encouraged. Members of the team are ADOS trained and work alongside health colleagues as part of the local neurodevelopmental pathway. Video Enhanced Practice is also an area of interest with several team members trained in delivering Video Interaction Guidance.
This post has become vacant following the retirement of two experienced members of the team. Applicants for the educational psychology post must have appropriate qualifications to work as an educational psychologist (or expect to have completed their professional qualifications by September 2020).
