The Families and Wellbeing Accountancy team are looking to recruit a full time Finance Assistant to support our team of Finance Advisors in providing a high-quality service to schools and internal customers.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant for Education, you will be part of an integral team providing support to schools via a purchased Service Level Agreement. Overall, 40 schools purchase this service.

The role

Day to Day activities include but are not limited to:

  • Visiting schools to provide onsite finance support
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices
  • Data Input to school systems
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Journal Preparation
  • Preparation of annual finance returns
  • Admin support for Finance Advisory Team - working is hybrid so both in the office or at home

What's needed?

The successful applicant must:

  • Have prior knowledge of financial systems / general procedures
  • Be able to adapt to differing working environments
  • Be organised and able to independently control workload and arrangements with SLA holders
  • Be an active problem solver
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Have a clean driving licence
  • Be flexible around working hours to meet accounting timescales
