We are looking to recruit a Helpline Operator to our Early Education Funding team, to work on a part time basis.

The post holder will help with parent and provider queries, regarding early years funding and childcare, including early years free school meal checks and assisted applications for 2 year old children.

About you:

The successful candidate will be part of the Early Education Funding Team, who are responsible for the administering funding for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds to access funded hours at nurseries, preschools and childminders. 

They will be responsible for covering the helpline, providing information and guidance to parents and childcare providers about the funded places and signposting other callers to the correct department or team. The post holder will be IT literate with excellent interpersonal skills enabling them to communicate with a variety of callers in a professional and friendly manner. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity issues in relation to information/data sharing.  

Experience of working with spreadsheets and databases would be an advantage. Accuracy in keying data is essential for carrying out eligibility checks for different types of funding.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
