About Journey First

Warrington Borough Council is a delivery partner in a European Social Fund project which will support people with complex needs and multiple barriers and help them move towards and into employment. The “Journey First” project will provide intense, innovative, holistic and tailored support to young people who are NEET or at risk of NEET; and also focus on young people aged up to 24, who are disengaged from mainstream activity. It will also support people of any age with multiple and complex barriers, including disabilities and mental health conditions, to address these underlying issues and to move closer to or into the labour market.

We are now recruiting to build our specialist capacity to deliver this project.

The role

This post will provide support for the Employment Development Team to ensure the smooth running of the Journey First project, including liaising with various partners, gathering and collating evidence that will comply with audit requirements, and maximising the amount of funding to be claimed. You will support and train project delivery staff to ensure that evidence paperwork is completed accurately and meets compliance requirements and set deadlines. You will prepare budget information to inform funding claims and departmental finance reports, including forecasting and reconciling project achievements against funding received.

You must have experience of working on time limited projects, including meeting deadlines, achieving targets and satisfying audit and compliance requirements. Keen attention to detail and accuracy, and highly developed literacy, numeracy and ICT skills are essential for this role.

22.2 hours per week (0.6FTE)

2 years fixed term contract

Secondment or job share arrangements may be considered

DBS clearance is required.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
