Warrington Borough Council is a delivery partner in a European Social Fund project supporting people with complex needs and multiple barriers to help them move towards, and into, employment.

Journey First provides intense, innovative, holistic and tailored support to people of any age with multiple and complex barriers, including disabilities and mental health conditions. The service aims to help participants address these underlying issues and move closer to, or into, the labour market. Young people who are NEET or at risk of NEET, and young people aged up to 24, who are disengaged from mainstream activity can also benefit from the service.

We are now recruiting to add to our existing, specialist team to continue the successful delivery of this project.

This post will support young people and adults with complex needs to move into employment, education or training, and then help them to sustain their progress. The service offered by Job Coaches includes developing personal action plans, vocational profiling, planning and accessing training requirements, meeting support needs and other practical requirements for employment. You will ensure that transitions to work are sustained by maintaining regular contact with both the employee and the employer; providing on the job training/support as required, and carrying out regular progress reviews.

You must have a passion for helping vulnerable young people and/or adults, and a drive to make a difference in someone’s life by supporting them into employment or training. We are seeking people with enthusiasm, who want to give something back to the community, by supporting participants on the first step of their journey to work.
