We have rare opportunity for an experienced Children’s Occupational Therapist to join a well-established and motivated team of Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Community Care Workers. The role involves assessing children aged 0 to 18 years with diverse needs in their home and working closely with parents and other professional’s to provide a child centred approach and coordinated service.

The primary aim is to enable children to reach their optimum level of independence, maintain safety and maximise quality of life. This is achieved through advice and the provision of specialist equipment, minor adaptations and housing adaptations (Disabled facilities Grants). The children’s service is developing and there is an opportunity for you to be part of this in order to make a real difference to children with disabilities in Warrington. As a valued member of Assisted Living Team you will be supported with regular supervision, a manageable and proportionate caseload, a visible and approachable management team. We have agile working such as working from home or other council offices throughout the day.

You will be provided with training and support to develop your skills so you can practice confidently and autonomously and there is excellent peer support. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have a positive attitude to disabled children with special needs and be able to work in partnership with parents to ensure the needs and the best interests of the child are met through a holistic assessment. You will need excellent communication and time management skills and be able to adopt a flexible approach.
