The Governors of Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated and caring Pastoral, SEND and Safeguarding Support Practitioner to join our happy and hardworking school. 

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly organised practitioner to join our dedicated Pastoral team. If you are passionate about the importance of pastoral care and want to join an ambitious, respectful and high performing school family, this job is for you!

Playing a vital role, the successful candidate would support the Pastoral, SEND and Safeguarding team with routine tasks and ensuring that the processes and systems in place work robustly. They will be meticulous about record keeping and provide high level support to staff and families of the Sacred Heart community. The will also have a clear understanding of Pastoral and SEND provision, communicate clearly and professionally with parents, children and external agencies and be proactive about taking action to support our families. Experience of supporting Mental Health and delivering First Aid would also be an advantage as this would also form part of the role. In addition to this, experience of delivering interventions to individuals or small groups would also be an advantage. However, training can also be provided.

 

Objectives

  • To provide support for our most vulnerable children and families
  • To be the first point of contact for our vulnerable children and parents and liaise with external agencies to ensure that the needs of our families are met.
  • Supporting SEND and children requiring additional support
  • To be responsible for administrative functions in the pastoral office
  • Provide administrative support to the team including SENDco, Pastoral and Safeguarding team
  • To be a Mental Health and Wellbeing lead providing support to children, families and staff alike
  • To act as First Aider
