As part of Property & Estate Management, Building Services is a multi-disciplinary design, building surveying and caretaking consultancy, providing a range of professional services to its in-house clients.
Reporting to the Premises Manager, working as a closely integrated member of the team, you will take an essential role in leading caretaking services primarily at the main council offices 1 Time Square.
Ideally from a Caretaking or Handyperson background with supervisory experience in a local authority environment, you will meet the criteria in the job description and person specification including managing a small team of caretakers, work planning, shift planning, locking/unlocking buildings, undertaking and reviewing various building checks, monitoring buildings systems, reporting and overseeing of faults and repairs to ensure a safe building environment, providing support within emergency procedures, undertaking manual handling tasks, working collaboratively with service users and external parties with the ability to embrace and contribute to change to deliver an efficient and effective caretaking service.
The role has a defined shift pattern currently operating Monday to Friday. As a member of a small team of Caretakers, a flexible approach to shift rotas to suit the ever changing needs of the business is essential, including but not limited to providing cover for other caretakers holidays, training, sickness (sometimes at short notice) and to meet adhoc operational demands which may include evenings and weekends.
